Staff Sgt. Talon Dumke, a health care specialist with the Wisconsin Medical Detachment, 64th Troop Command, is assisted by senior leadership in removing his rucksack after finishing the 12-mile ruck march event of the State Best Warrior Competition April 23. A select 16 Soldiers in the Wisconsin Army National Guard faced off in the 2017 State Best Warrior Competition at Fort McCoy, Wis., April 21-23. Eight Soldiers and eight noncommissioned officers tested their professional and physical skills contending for the distinction of being named the state’s best Soldier and noncommissioned officer.
